Eric Swanbury

In 1971 Eric graduated from the South Australian Institute of Technology. He gained experience in a range of educational and retail projects before commencing private practice in 1982, leading to the formation of Swanbury Penglase Architects in 1989.

Eric has extensive experience across all facets of architectural practice and with a special interest in creating places that are inspiring and supportive, encourage and facilitate endeavour and productivity, and promote stimulating and harmonious interaction in residential and workplace environments. Eric’s specialist knowledge in the education and clinical fields provides a positive contribution to the built environment through innovative, cost effective and functional architecture.

Outside of architecture, Eric enjoys family time, Adelaide’s thriving coffee culture, travelling, time spent working with timber in his workshop and in the garden establishing and nurturing an eclectic collection of plants and flowers.
