Frank Smith

Experienced in the delivery of large-scale Urban Design and Landscape Architectural projects, Frank brings knowledge across a variety of sectors including, Education, Infrastructure, Recreation and Civic Public Realm.

With experience in the delivery of city shaping projects from masterplan to construction, he enjoys the challenge of balancing competing stakeholder interests and operational requirements to create beautiful, functional places.

Following 12 years working across Australia, Frank joined Swanbury Penglase in 2020, as an associate and co-leader of the UDLA team. With a pragmatic attitude, he promotes a balanced approach to achieving design objectives, with in the practical constraints of cost, program, and constructability. Passionate about inclusive and universal design, he aims to create spaces that promote equal access and social opportunities for all.

Since joining Swanbury Penglase, Frank has delivered a range of Landscape Architecture projects, predominantly in the education sector, including the simultaneous delivery of the birth to year 12 campuses at Angle Vale Riverbanks B-12 College and Aldinga Payinthi College.

Outside of work, Frank is kept busy by his young family, but in his spare moments can be found road cycling, training, and racing for his beloved Norwood Cycling Club. As Club President he is passionate about growing opportunities for juniors and women’s participation in the sport and expanding the memberships involvement in volunteering.
