Jenny Newman

Originally from London, Jenny Newman is a lead, design-focussed architect who has gained extensive experience practising as an architect both in the UK and Australia.  She believes in the value of collaborative design and the creation of authentic people-orientated places and is a strong supporter of the adaptive re-use of existing buildings.

Before joining Swanbury Penglase Jenny worked on a number of large, complex projects across Australia, the Pacific and in Europe enabling her to amass skills across a broad range of sectors including commercial, residential, defence, aged care, and heritage.

Jenny firmly believes in continued practical learning and has attained a Distinction in a Specialist Certificate in designing for an ageing population from Melbourne University, has tutored at the University of South Australia and is currently active on numerous Planning and Design Panels in an advisory capacity at both State and Local Government levels.

Outside of architecture Jenny is always outdoors, hiking, travelling, or tackling her own never-ending house, landscaping, and gardening projects.
