Bonython Hall

Constructed between 1933 and 1936, Bonython Hall is a ‘gothic-revival’ style and includes a combination of traditional and then new materials.

The project primarily involved the delicate integration of new building services, primarily the resolution of internal thermal control problems by the sensitive addition of a new low velocity air condition system to deal with the massive volume of the Hall but without a negative impact on its heritage values. Other work included the installation of new audio visual systems together with general conservation works, pre-empted by the preparation of a detailed internal dilapidation survey identifying all significant building fabric.

The work has ensured the preservation of the building by carefully resolving the needs of the students and community of the 21st century.
